With two writers for parents, Mathias is due to have an intimate relationship with the written word. We’re well stocked with baby classics thanks to friends and family, and we’ve started reading to him from time to time. He doesn’t quite seem to get what’s going on, but he’s patient, and the colors seem to be more and more intriguing.
Here are some photos of a recent wrestle with the classics. At the very least, they may give Mathias something to laugh at in the future, when books have been entirely replaced by the feelies.

Mathias is adorable! Adair likes “Brown Bear, Brown Bear,” probably because the pictures are large and colorful. She also recently became a drooling machine. Nothing stays dry when she’s around.

That’s amazing that she’s turned on the drool spigot because Mathias has done the exact same thing. He was really fussy today too, and he likes to chew on things, so we’re starting to wonder if he’s heading down the teething road?! It seems early (especially since I didn’t get my first tooth until after I was one), but I’m sure it’s coming.
