Chicago Seidlers

Mathias is getting pretty good at walking around the apartment, especially with a little help from his trusty lawnmower (thanks Patty and Carol!). Here’s the dude on the move!

As we shared a while back, James’ Aunt Carol picked up some Dr. Seuss Thing One and Thing Two gear for James and Mathias to showcase. But she also picked up a matching shirt for Mathias’ cousin Aubrey, and we finally got the two of them to pose together back in October.

This has become a familiar scene (although Aubrey is a sweetheart with "Baby Thias."

Going back through some old photos: In October, we all headed into South Bend to tailgate with the family at Uncle Mike’s before the Notre Dame-Western Michigan game. It was a lot of fun, although was definitely not the winner of the “good baby” award.

This is part of our evening ritual. He’s getting better every night!

At his 10-month appointment, “chubbers” clocked in at 32 inches and 24 pounds, 2 ounces. Our big  boy is 90th percentile for both…and will surely be abusing his dad before too long.

Mathias is becoming more of a toddler than a baby, and we’re seeing lots of new behaviors. Among them is his delight in throwing all of his toys on the floor, one by one. Since we have wood floors and live above our neighbors, we try to keep the clatter to a minimum.

In the past month, Mathias has become extremely mobile. He’s able to crawl all over our apartment, pulling himself up on anything he comes across (including several things he shouldn’t, like our bookshelves or the rocking chair).

It’s fun to have him mobile. He especially likes to follow Lori if she heads off into another part of the apartment. Apparently hanging out with dad isn’t as much fun!

We just spent a long weekend with the Seidlers in Tucson, Arizona, soaking up sun and stuffing ourselves with top-notch food. Mathias basked in the love of his cousins, aunt, great aunts and uncles (as well as plenty of random airline passengers and waitresses).
